Microneedling

Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, is a treatment that utilizes a device with sterile, small needles that penetrate the dermis to a uniform depth, creating a controlled skin injury, and thereby promotes collagen and elastin fiber production, resulting in skin remodeling. This can benefit a large variety of skin concerns, including various types of scars including acne scars, fine lines/ wrinkles, and overall skin texture.

At KalloMed Aesthetics, we specifically use SkinPen, and FDA-approved device, for microneedling treatments.

What areas can be treated?

The face and/or the neck can be targeted with microneedling for various skin concerns.

  • Prior to treatment, the skin will be cleansed thoroughly by your provider. A topical numbing agent will be applied to the entire treatment area. After appropriate analgesia from numbing is established, your skin will be re-cleansed, and micronedling can begin.

The device will be run in different directions along your skin and varying depths at the discretion of your provider. There is typically minimal to no pain with this thanks to topical numbing prior to treatment.
